Our annual Shoot for a Cause event was held September 7th and it proved a great day. We partnered with The Hartford Citizens Police Academy Alumni Association to raise funds for tactical equipment for the Hartford PD as well as support for the K-9 unit on the force. Several demonstrations with Flash, the current K-9, and Ranger, the potential new K-9, fascinated the crowd that gathered outside. The police/fire departments shoot off was a lot of fun and the fire department came out on top and swept the trophy away. They have to bring it back next year and defend it. It's quite possible we'll see some officers around the club practicing before the big day next year!
Over 30 teams registered to shoot trap, there were many raffles that created revenue and we are still tabulating everything that came in that day but so far the total has exceeded $12,000. Much thanks to our members for the hearty support for such a great cause.
